I come here at my schedule appointment. And I'm still here waiting. The people that work here r very nice. But the time I have to sit and wait to get checked is very disappointing.

It's a great place for Veterans to get the medical care they need, BUT, like anything in the Military, it's "hurry up and wait", as well as, it is a Hospital; which means 3 hours or more for treatment!

My nurse practitioner was awesome! Mrs. Mirello was thorough and incredibly intelligent. Having just come from a private doc who misdiagnosed me with Asthma, I gotta say, it felt good to get the care I needed. For future reference, if it's cranky old private doctor vs hot nurse practitioner, hot nurse practitioner wins! Semper Fi Mirello

It's a progressive patient care center .. great minds of medical personelle and top notch medical doctors. Miami University (Hurricanes), Miami Dade College, Miami University & Jackson Memorial Hospitals, students & interns are learning medical care at Miami VA Medical Center throughout all of the clinics .. A few downfalls is 1) Pharmacy wait time is often long waits .. 2) Parking your car anywhere in that quadrant of the city is nearly impossible .. best option is to park you car at a metrorail station and take a metrotrain to the Hospital district. 3) Cafeteria and the store are very expensive ..

My husband would not be alive today we're it not for the care he received at this V. A. Hospital. From the first night we arrived in the ER 3 years ago, they have saved his life on more than one occasion. Despite the sheer size of this facility and the thousands of veterans it serves daily, we have made many friends among the staff...doctor,, nurses, food service, prosthetics, receptionists in 5 different specialties etc. It was overwhelming at first, but people at the Bruce. W. Carter V. A. Hospital, and our local Key West Clinic really do care! For those of you who feel " lost in the system", start with your local clinic medical staff first and have them refer you if needed. There is a system in place and while it is not perfect, it does function well. If you cannot access the service you need in a timely fashion and you believe you have been overlooked, then call the Patient Advocate Office for further advice. We will always be grateful to the Medical Staff at Bruce. W. Carter. Their care and followup over several years of chronic health issues has been exemplary.

Best patient care in the country. Physicians here have time to take care of patients and not worry about paperwork.
